Breaking news! The Artist and the Model (El artista y la modela) received 13 Goya nominations this morning, including Best Picture and Best Director for our Tribute honoree, acclaimed Spanish director Fernando Trueba. Miami International Film Festival is proud to be hosting the US PREMIERE of The Artist and the Model at this year’s 30th anniversary edition, where Truebas’s film will screen in the CINEDWNTWN Gala category at the Olympia Theater at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts.
MIFF 2012 Audience Award Winner Juan of the Dead (Juan de los muertos), by Alejandro Brugués, also received a Goya nomination for Best Latin American film of the year.
The 27th Goya Awards will be presented at the Centro de Convenciones y Congresos Príncipe Felipe in Madrid on February 17, 2013 to honor the best in Spanish films of 2012. Comedian Eva Hache will be the master of ceremonies for the second year in a row.
