How long does my membership last?
Each membership is valid for one (1) year from the date it is processed. Memberships are not self-renewing and will require manual renewal to avoid a lapse in benefits. 

Will I be notified when my membership is due for renewal?
Yes, we will reach out to you before your expiration date to announce your renewal date is coming up and again before the membership is set to expire. 

What do I do if I want to update my personal information?
To update your personal information, please e-mail membership@miamifilmfestival.com.

Can I join at one level and then upgrade to another?
Of course! If you would like to upgrade after you’ve purchased a membership, e-mail membership@miamifilmfestival.com and we’ll assist with the changes.

Will I receive notifications regarding tickets to films/events?
You will receive regular invitations from the Miami Film Society Office and weekly communications as we approach Gems Film Festival and Miami Film Festival with line-up reveals and ticket ordering instructions.

Are tickets automatically sent to members?
No, members must claim tickets in advanced by logging in to the ticketing site or contacting the Miami Film Society Office. We recommend placing orders as soon as possible as many events sell out and we cannot make any exceptions or exchanges of benefits.

If I purchase a ticket and then later realize I can’t attend the event, can I get a refund/exchange?
Miami Film Festival has an official no refunds, no exchanges policy. We ask that you please be sure of all your selections before completing your transaction. If you have any questions, please contact tickets@miamifilmfestival.com

If I can’t use my tickets, can someone else use them on my behalf?
Yes, you may give your film or event tickets to someone else so that they may attend instead. Please note, invitations to private events are non-transferable.

I need help understanding my complimentary ticket allowance.
Please contact the Miami Film Society Office at (305) 237-7979 and we will explain how many complimentary tickets you are entitled to based on your membership level and what categories they apply to.

Can my complimentary tickets be used for any film/event in any category?
Each membership level has a specific set of benefits associated with it. Complimentary tickets may not be exchanged or substituted.

Miami Film Society is committed to providing a safe space in which to carry out its mission and activities. Your presence or participation at any Miami Film Festival screening and event constitutes acceptance of this code of conduct and your agreement to:

• Conduct yourself in an appropriate manner befitting members of the Miami Film Society
• Maintain responsibility for the conduct of your guests, including, but not limited to, using appropriate language, remaining respectful of other members, attendees, and staff
• Refrain from taking any photographs, video or audio recordings, including “selfies” of the on-screen content;
• Abide by all applicable venue/event rules, regulations, and state and local laws.

At Miami Film Festival in-person screenings and events, you further agree to:

• Permit you and your guest’s images to be captured by photo or video in connection with a screening or event
• Remain in your seats, limiting conversation, and avoiding obstructions of other guests once a screening begins until the houselights come on

During Miami Film Festival virtual screenings and events, you further agree to:

• Abide by all terms and conditions as set by Miami Film Festival, Miami Dade College, and state and federal intellectual property laws, including, but not limited to, refraining from capturing any audio, video, screen shots, screen recordings of any films or other protected material
• Refraining from sharing your authorized link to any screening with any other person/entity
• Refraining from broadcasting/webcasting/sharing any screening except as authorized

As a member in good standing, you agree to abide by Miami Film Society’s Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct expects legal, appropriate and courteous behavior and actions from all participants, both in-person and virtually. Failure to abide by the Code of Conduct may result in removal from a venue, loss of virtual or in-person screening and event privileges, suspension or termination of Miami Film Society membership without reimbursement, depending on the severity of the offense, and/or prohibition of future Miami Film Society membership. Any decision to suspend or terminate a Miami Film Society Membership is final.

For Emergencies
Immediately dial 911, then contact a staff member.

• Using the FILM GUIDE, click on an event to access its individual page. Once opened, click the SELECT A SHOWING button on the top right and click on the screening. Skip this step if using the SCHEDULE option
• Once the page for your desired screening has opened, click the ORDER TICKETS button on the top right and when prompted, CONTINUE TO SITE
• Once on the SquadUp site, use your code to unlock the seat map by clicking on the >MEMBER PRE-SALE! CLICK TO ENTER ACCESS CODE< button at the bottom of the page.
• Once unlocked, select your preferred seat and make sure you add GENERAL SCREENING to cart (do not add Senior or Student tickets as those selections will void your member discount).
• Once you have made your selection(s) for this event, click CHECKOUT
• If purchasing for other events, repeat the process and add them all to your cart
• Once you have made all your event and required seat selections, please carefully review your cart and make sure that:

1. • You’ve selected the right ticket quantities for each event
   • The Promotional Code has been applied and each event box displays a “Promo code is valid!” message in green

• Complete the Purchaser Information section. You do not need to create a password or account to access your tickets
• Complete the Payment Information section
• By clicking GET TICKETS you are confirming that this is the order you intended to place and are agreeing to the SquadUp and Miami Film Festival policies.

PLEASE NOTE

• If the total cost of the items you’re purchasing exceeds the amount of the promotion, you’ll be prompted to provide payment method for the balance.
• Benefits are exclusively for MFF 2024, taking place April 5-14. Unclaimed benefits will be considered forfeited and will not roll over future editions. If your plans change and you need to pause your membership, contact the Miami Film Society Office immediately.
• Benefits are subject to venue capacity limitations and event age restrictions. Members are encouraged to take advantage of the pre-sale access period to secure their preferred events.
• Ticket will not be automatically issued. If applicable, complimentary tickets must be claimed by members in advance either online through our ticketing site or directly with the Miami Film Society Office.
• Offers and discounts must be redeemed at time of placing order, price adjustments cannot be made once an order has been processed. If you have a question or concern, please contact the Miami Film Society Office prior to submitting payment.
• Miami Film Festival has a “No Refunds, No Exchange” policy for all official screenings and events. Requests submitted by Miami Film Society members will be reviewed in good-faith on a case-by-case basis, final decisions will be made by the Miami Film Festival Ticketing Team.
• A Festival screenings is different from a regular screening, please be seated 15 minutes before the scheduled start time to ensure a seamless experience for the audience and filmmakers in attendance. Ticket-holders who arrive late will be seated at the discretion of the Festival’s Venue Manager.
