Ballplayer: Pelotero

MIFF 2012’s Doc-You-Up Official Selection Ballplayer: Pelotero, whose US theatrical and VOD rights were recently acquired by Strand Releasing, returned to the big screen this past week and opened to sell out crowds in Boston, San Francisco, New York, Washington DC, and Florida. The film is now available on iTunes and Amazon.  This compelling documentary explores the lives of two talented teenage baseball players under intense pressure as they train in the Dominican Republic for a possible career with the MLB.  Ballplayer: Pelotero exploits the MLB as a system that takes advantage of and abuses prospective players in the Dominican Republic.
