The Greater Miami Convention & Visitor’s Bureau (GMCVB), City of Miami Beach and Miami International Film Festival (MIFF) hosted ‘IT’S SO MIAMI @ TIFF’ private celebration this past Monday evening in the posh Club Room at the internationally renowned Soho House Toronto, which also hosted yesterday’s star-studded after-party for Don Jon, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and actress Scarlett Johannson.  Soho Beach House in Miami Beach is part of the Soho House private members’ club group for those in film, media and creative industries,  founded in London, in 1995.

Guests included David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada, Hope Springs), who was also a special guest of MIFF earlier this year for the “cast reunion” screening of MIFF’s 1995 opening night film, Miami Rhapsody during a special countdown retrospective celebrating 30 years of MIFF. Frankel stopped by the event on his way to the world premiere of his new film One Chance, a comedy starring Julie Walters and Colm Meaney, about the incredible true story of Paul Potts, an aspiring opera singer who tried his luck on the “Britain’s Got Talent!” reality show.

Costa Rican producer/director Neto Villalobos was in the house following the world premiere at TIFF of his first feature film, and MIFF 2013’s Miami Encuentros winning project,  All About the Feathers (Por la plumas).

The GMCVB’s recent brand campaign, “It’s So Miami”, is what you say when you’re delighted, enthused or amazed by something you see, hear or feel that captures the vibe and variety of everyday life in Greater Miami and The Beaches. The second annual VIP gathering of pros demonstrated MIFF’s vast international appeal to the world’s best, simultaneously adding a fresh dose of Miami sunshine to TorontoView photo gallery.
