About
Francisco and his brother are part of a group of construction workers building a massive home for a wealthy man in Mexico City. When Francisco’s brother falls to his death while at work, it seems like things couldn’t get worse. But when the owner of the home refuses to pay his widowed sister-in-law the proper compensation he owes her, something breaks inside Francisco. Tired of facing injustice after injustice, Francisco enlists his fellow workers to join him in a plot to get what they deserve.
Produced by Miami Film Festival alum Michel Franco (Chronic, April’s Daughter), Workforce is a quiet, introspective film about blazing anger. In his directorial debut, writer-director David Zonana asks the question: What happens when we become the monster we were trying to defeat?
This screening is sponsored by HBO, FlixLatino, ViendoMovies Available with Xfinity, and the Jordan Alexander Ressler Charitable Fund.
