Juan

About

In this personal, haunting, and atmospheric documentary, first-time documentary feature director Adrián Geyer mixes a mystical search with intimate family history to powerful effect.

Juan was a hermit artist who lived in one of the most remote valleys on earth, where he'd make art, completely removed from the world. He nevertheless had a profound impact on Geyer's parents, and thus on his own life. Searching for answers about his family's legacy, Geyer starts a journey far away from the city to enter a world full of magic and nature, and recover his memories about Juan.

In this unforgettable documentary, Geyer creates atmosphere and draws audiences in like an established master, evoking the probing wonder of a Werner Herzog and the introspection of an Agnes Varda.
