Instinct

About

Nicoline (Game of Thrones, Carice van Houten) is an experienced psychologist that is embarking on a new job at a penal institution. There she meets Idris, a sex offender who committed a series of incredibly violent crimes. After five years of treatment, his team of practitioners are enthusiastic about his development as he prepares to embark on his first unaccompanied probation. But Nicoline has seen it all, and she isn't buying the rehabilitated front he puts on.

Scared of the consequences of his release, she tries to push his probation. But despite everything she knows about Idris, she can't ignore the intense hold he has on her. What results is a series of twisted interactions between the two, as his manipulative core comes to the surface in a cat and mouse sexual power play that goes to dangerous lengths.

With hints of Paul Verhoeven's Elle, Instinct is a psycho-sexual thriller that dares to dive into sexual desire, control, and the true definition of consent.

This screening is sponsored by AIDS Healthcare Foundation and the Jordan Alexander Ressler Charitable Fund.
