About
Legendary Argentinian filmmaker Marcos Carnevale (a Miami Film Festival Precious Gem Awardee in 2017) is a master of the feel-good comedy brimming with heart and intelligence. It's no wonder his films tend to get remade in multiple countries – from Elsa & Fred to Lion's Heart to Inseparables (the rare time he directed a remake instead of inspiring one) – his film's strike a chord with audiences like few other directors. His latest, I Am Not Your Mommy is a hilarious and joyous addition to his pantheon.
Paula (played by the great Julieta Diaz) edits a progressive women's magazine that is starting to struggle with its bottom line. Pressured by its worried owners to produce more traditional content, with a maternal bent, Paula rebelliously starts a column titled "Reasons Not to be a Mother" that becomes a viral hit. But her beliefs, and intention for her own life, are put to the test when a new neighbor and his young daughter move into the building.
Carnevale's second consecutive collaboration with Julieta Diaz (following the hit comedy My Love or My Passion) produces one of the finest performances of her great career.
