Golden Age

About

In Golden Age, we're drawn into the lavish world of The Palace in Coral Gables, a buzzing and luxurious senior living community that was voted "Number one in America" several times.

In this immersive documentary, extravaganza and glamour line up in an existential contest against loneliness and slackening limbs as we observe seniors in a world full of parties and entertainment. Featuring first-hand interviews from The Palace's management and occupants, we're given an authentic look at a place where live music, champagne, and a side of bingo are constant daily fixtures; a place where the wealthy senior residents are determined to live life to the fullest, even until the very end. But even the fanciest parties, the sparkling interiors and the finest buffets cannot disguise the daily struggles of aging.

Bolstered by a cast of colorful characters, Golden Age takes our ideas about retirement homes and flips them on their crown-laden head.

This screening is sponsored by the Consulate General of Switzerland and the Swiss American Chamber of Commerce in Miami.
