Winner of the Miami Film Festival 2022 Knight Marimbas Award, FREDA returns to Tower Theater Miami for an encore screening on Saturday, March 19 at 4:45 PM.

Directed by Gessica Généus, Freda takes place in modern-day Haiti in the center of its political hotbed capital, Port Au Prince and follows young University student full of dreams and ambition, resides with her Mother and Sister earning a living from their small street shop.
Supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the $25,000 Knight MARIMBAS Award is an international, juried competition for new narrative feature films that best exemplify richness and resonance for cinema’s future.
