Miami Film Festival GEMS Unveils 2025 Poster

This year, to mark GEMS as a permanent cinematic staple in Miami, the Miami Film Festival has “inked-up” with local tattoo artist Peach to create this year’s fun & spooky festival poster artwork.

As their Instagram states, Peach’s artist style offers “bold tattoos to wear with a grin”.

“For this year’s GEMS poster, I wanted to capture something that felt both spooky and fun while celebrating a city that is very close to my heart. Inspired by classic pinups and Miami’s own vibrant character, I integrated familiar scenes that reflect the energy, beauty, and quirks of the place I’ve called home my whole life. Designing this piece brought me so much joy, and it’s an honor to share it with such a special event in my city.” – Peach

Retro vibes mixed with iconic Miami landmarks—such as MDC’s Freedom Tower, South Beach’s lifegaurd towers, and the popular Ocean Drive—set the scene for a uniquely Miami experience. But alas! A dark storm has rolled into the Magic City to say… it’s almost Halloween…. it’s almost Dia de Muertos… which means: it’s almost Miami Film Festival GEMS (happening October 29–November 5!)

For the second year in a row, GEMS is overlapping with both of these famously freaky holidays. Expect some spook-specific programming, along with award-season hopefuls, to make up this year’s GEMS program.
Last year’s GEMS program screened Oscar-Winning films such as The Brutalist, I’m Still Here, Emilia Pérez, A Real Pain, and more. Also sprinkled in were some unearthed “hidden GEMS” like DIG XX! (the 20th anniversary extended edition of DIG!) and a rare screening of Peter Jackson’s (yes) Heavenly Creatures.

Expect such treats (maybe even a few tricks 😉) this GEMS season. Full line up announced & tickets on sale October 1st.
