Miami Film Festival GEMS to Honor Sebastian Stan with Precious Gem Award
Award to be Presented as Part of The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter Podcast Live!
Miami Film Festival GEMS announced that Sebastian Stan will receive the Precious Gem Award. He’ll receive the award immediately following a live recording of The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast moderated by Scott Feinberg, Executive Editor of Awards, in front of a festival audience. The event will be held on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 5:00 p.m. at MDC Wolfson Auditorium in downtown Miami. Get tickets!
The Precious Gem Award is the festival’s signature award, reserved for one-of-a-kind artists whose contributions to cinema are lasting and unforgettable. Past Precious Gem recipients included Pedro Almodóvar, Penelope Cruz, Isabelle Huppert, Rita Moreno, Ramin Bahrani, Ryusuke Hamaguchi, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Patricia Clarkson, and more.
Stan earned the Silver Bear Award for Best Leading Performance at the Berlin Film Festival for A24’s A Different Man, where he plays Edward, an actor with neurofibromatosis undergoing a radical transformation. Stan also executive produced the film, which premiered September 20. His next film, The Apprentice debuted at the Cannes Film Festival where we received rave reviews for his performance.
Stan has received multiple Emmy®, Golden Globe®, and Critics Choice® nominations, notably for his portrayal of Tommy Lee in Hulu’s Pam and Tommy. His other credits include Destroyer, I, Tonya, Fresh, Dumb Money, Sharper, The 355, Monday, Logan Lucky, The Martian, Ricki and the Flash, Black Swan, and Ending, Beginnings. He recently wrapped production on Marvel’s Thunderbolts, reprising his role as Bucky Barnes, which he’s played in seven of the billion-dollar “Avengers” franchise films including Avengers: Endgame, Ant-Man, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and three installations of Marvel’s Captain America: Captain America: Civil War, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: The First Avenger.
