Two Tears

Directed by Josefina Pieres
United States
2025
19 mins

On the eve of their Nutcracker debut, eight-year-old ballet students Ginny and Deana discover a mysterious book that speaks of a curse: before their first performance, they must shed two tears of pure emotion or risk their future as dancers. Unsure of what “emotional tears” truly mean, the girls begin to question how to connect with pure feeling. They are convinced their teacher, Miss Maia, knows about the curse, yet sense she is hiding something. Two Tears is a poetic coming-of-age tale about childhood, artistic awakening, and the fragile magic of feeling.
