When Zhizhi, a six-year-old Chinese boy, flies from Shanghai to Miami by himself to visit his mom whom he hasn't seen in nine months, he has high hopes of seeing the ocean. But after a rocky reunion, he is not sure he'll get the chance; and his presence brings back the pain of a broken marriage to his mom.
Xiaoxiao Xu is a filmmaker and senior lecturer from China. She received her master’s degree at Korea National University of Arts. She is devoted to using the flowing language of film to portray women’s sometimes contradictory internal conflicts.
