Following the death of his grandfather, 17-year-old Javi is forced to return alone to his native Puerto Rico for the funeral. Back in his childhood home, the suffocating heat, buried memories, and untamed surroundings quickly convince him this will be the worst summer of his life. That is, until he meets Luife and Kiki – two larger-than-life social misfits who pull him into their orbit and reshape his return in unexpected ways.
