Surviving on charm, instinct, and fleeting sexual encounters, Veneno needs a way out of the life he’s living. He finds it in Muñeco when he persuades the trucker to take him north. Together, they enter the insular world of long-haul trucking, where men are expected to be silent and vulnerability is forbidden. Yet, as the miles blur by, an unexpected, dangerous tenderness grows between them. It's a fragile solace, immediately threatened by the past Veneno is trying to outrun. On the Road is a provocative, explicit, and tense odyssey tackling themes of queer survival, transactional desire, and the sheer peril of intimacy in a hostile terrain.
On the Road premiered at Venice Film Festival, where it won the section's main prize and the Queer Lion.
