A very serious man makes the discovery of a lifetime in a thrift store: a $3,500 designer jacket marked down to just $100. He promptly purchases the jacket, anticipating an overwhelming amount of compliments on his extraordinary new piece (his jackets are always a hit—he never misses). Yet, the praise never comes. And this bothers him.
So, in order to receive the approval he desperately desires, he sets out to compliment everyone he encounters—a pursuit that may ultimately ruin him.
