Modern Whore

80 mins

Modern Whore is a hybrid documentary that reimagines popular depictions of sex work through the lived experiences of writer, performer, and sex worker Andrea Werhun. Based on her book Modern Whore: A Memoir, Werhun grapples with social stigma and reclaims her narrative in a series of funny, heartbreaking, and surprising stories. Executive produced by Sean Baker (The Florida Project, Anora), Modern Whore uses heightened style and ample personality to connect with audiences about a topic that’s often pushed into the shadows. Sex-positive, daring, and unapologetically authentic, Nicole Bazuin’s documentary is a wild conversation starter that challengers audiences to see sex work in a new light.
