Knight Made in MIA Award (Short Film)

Madame Pipi follows the lives of Haitian female bathroom attendants working in the nightclubs of Miami. Relatively invisible, underpaid, and underappreciated, their stories tell of a journey of triumph as they massage the patrons' temperaments for tips. Despite the rising cost of living and the uncertainty caused by COVID-19 shutting down nightlife, they fight on, knowing that the remittances the Haitian diaspora is able to send home constitute more than one third of Haiti's GDP.
