Everybody to Kenmure Street

Everybody to Kenmure Street is a fascinating examination of spontaneous community action. In May 2021 Scotland, a United Kingdom Home Office raid was launched at dawn on the first day of the Islamic celebration of Eid, triggering one of the most spontaneous acts of civil resistance in recent history as hundreds of residents rush to Kenmure Street to stop the deportation of their neighbors. Executive producer Emma Thompson makes a cameo as Van Man, the protester who slid under the van holding the two detained men to prevent it from leaving, in reenactments from his testimony.
