Amidst the lush tree-lined streets and eccentric houses of Coconut Grove, thirteen-year-old Ethan Bloom lives a double life. One moment he might be helping his priest, Father Diaz, clean up after mass as an altar boy and the next moment he’s having Shabbat dinner with his family.
His father, Gary, a Miami real estate developer, is disturbed by his son’s new obsession with Catholicism, but is trying to be flexible because the therapist encouraged Ethan to find peace after the death of Ethan’s mom. Gary makes him a deal: he has to begin studying for his bar mitzvah if he wants to continue to spend time at the church.
A World Premiere screening of a wonderful new Miami film.
