Knight Made in MIA Award (Short Film)
D3C05 is a sci-fi love letter to Miami’s Art Deco architecture. Re-interpreting a future where power structures have shifted, the film envisions Miami Art Deco architecture in a post-human Latinx world. Spanish dialects, slang, historical references, and digital stutter combine into a speculative language of the future. The film takes the idea of optimistic futurism and reimagines the concept within a digital space, where the boundaries between human, nature, and object coalesce; a world where synesthetic communication and performative rituals reign.
Blaze Gonzalez is a multi-disciplinary art director and creative. Born in Miami, FL to Nuyorican parents, her first form of visual communication was dance. Her background in urban studies, fine art, and design are the foundation for her current practice.
Co-Director Hannah Gaengler’s digital art practice, grounded in landscape architecture, gave birth to the simulation module that is D3C05.
