Bookends

When Nate is forced to move in with his grandparents after a bad breakup, he’s desperate to escape the confines of retirement community life and his meddlesome grandparents’ relentless efforts to “improve” him. But when his Holocaust-surviving grandfather, Saul, shows signs of cognitive decline and his grandmother, Miriam, refuses to acknowledge it, Nate is torn between his desire to flee, family responsibilities, and an unexpected romance with their handsome doctor.

Starring Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus, The White Lotus) and Caroline Aaron (Sleepless in Seattle, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Nate’s grandparents, Bookends is a tender, funny, and heartfelt film about the unexpected connections that shape us, being there for your family, and navigating life’s defining chapters.
