In the centennial year of the Harlem Renaissance and the fall of Black Wall Street, Blackness is Luxury is a fashion film that explores the relationship that Black models have with the luxury fashion industry.


Kamaria McCall is an entrepreneur who began directing fashion shows at 16 years old. Her passions led her to work with international shows such as Milan Fashion and Pitti Uomo, as well as domestic shows with Miami Fashion Week and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Dorian E. Munroe is an Academy Award-qualified film director. His films have been funded by the TriBeCa Film Institute. His recent film Kid No More was acquired by The New Yorker. His education includes studies at the Stanford MFA Documentary Film program and residency at UnionDocs.
