Bea, Mari, and Ivan just buried their best friend, David, who died from an overdose. They don’t have money to pay for the headstone Mari promised to buy, so Bea came up with the idea to call an old friend, Eric, and invite him to the funeral, to see if he could help out.

Eric left the group right after high school, he ghosted them and they haven't heard from him since. Ivan still holds a grudge because of it.
