The film consists of five short sketches that use archival footage interwoven with interviews to highlight aspects of Miami's history. The segments are: On Flagler Street - about the old movie palaces downtown, features Jimmy Barnett former manager of the Olympia Theater; Down on Second Avenue - when Overtown was a mecca of Black entertainment, features Clyde Killens; Waiting at the Station - the last train pulls into the downtown station before it's demolished, features Chuck and Dick Beall, father and son engineers; Night Lights - Al Melo and his son work to create iconic neon signs; On the River - travel along with Plato Cook as work commences on the Miami River.
