Featuring South Florida

The Made in MIA Feature Film Award and Made in MIA Short Film Award are competitions for jury-selected films of any genre that prominently feature South Florida (Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and/or Monroe counties) in their story, setting, and filming location. Presented by the Miami Film Festival, these awards honor films that best utilize South Florida’s story and theme for universal resonance.

For the upcoming 42nd Annual Miami Film Fesstival, we’re thrilled to announce that Panavision will provide $60k in equipment to this year’s Made In MIA winner at the 42nd annual Miami Film Festival. Panavision is a world-class provider of end-to-end services and solutions that power the creative vision of filmmakers.

2024 Recipients

Made in MIA Feature Film Award ($25,000)

Winner: Mountains, directed by Monica Sorelle.

Made in MIA Shorts Film Award ($10,000)

Winner: Konpa, directed by Al’lkens Plancher.

Honorable mention: Jack and Sam, directed by Jordan Matthew Horowitz.
