Cinemaslam aims to foster excellence in student filmmaking and expose students to the value of film festivals by connecting their work with public audiences and industry professionals.

Undergraduate and Graduate film students in the state of Florida whose films meet the below criteria are encouraged to submit their films for consideration here (https://filmfreeway.com/MiamiFilmFestival) before January 8th. Take advantage of this opportunity to have your film reviewed by industry professionals and, if selected, participate in one of the most exciting film festivals in the United States!

• Film must have been completed no earlier than January 1st, 2026.
• Filmmaker must have been enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited Florida college or university at the time of project’s completion.
• Film must have been completed as part of an accredited Florida college or university’s coursework. Submissions without this information risk disqualification. With your submission cover letter, please supply:
  1. The name of your college or university
  2. The name of the course for which the film was made
  3. The name and email address of the course professor
  4. Submissions without this information risk disqualification
• Film must have a runtime of 20 minutes or less. No exceptions will be made.

Finalists will be invited to screen their film as an official selection at Miami Film Festival (April 1-11, 2026). A jury of industry professionals will select a Cinemaslam Grand Prize winner as well as additional honors and awards, which will be announced at the festival screening.

There is a $15 submission fee.
