Join us for an unforgettable evening with internationally renowned actor Diego Luna, as Miami Film Festival partners with Variety to present Luna with the inaugural Variety Virtuoso Award to celebrate Luna’s excellence in acting, directing, and producing over the years. This exclusive event will include an award presentation to Luna as well as an extended sit-down discussion about his illustrious career.
Most recently, he can be seen in the Disney+ spy thriller series, Andor—which he also executive produces—reprising his beloved role of the title character, “Cassian Andor,” the rebel spy he portrayed in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, with the new series serving as a prequel, set five years prior to the events of the film. Andor examines the title character’s rich backstory, beginning with the destruction of his homeworld and his hero’s quest amid the Rebellion. The second season is set to be released in 2024.
Luna was introduced to worldwide audiences with his starring role in Alfonso Cuarón’s 2001 award-winning road epic, Y Tu Mamá También, alongside Gael García Bernal. A lifelong artist, he began his professional acting career on stage at the age of seven and made his television debut at age twelve.
