Between its formation in 1959 and its dissolution in 2018, the Basque separatist group ETA killed nearly a thousand people in Spain—including more than three hundred civilians—and injured over 22,000 others. Yet, it was only ever infiltrated successfully by one police officer. Aranzazu Berradre Marín is a pseudonym, but her story, told here, is based on true events.
The film not only details the years of dedication it took posing as a young ETA sympathizer to gain the trust of the ETA’s inner circle but also the personal sacrifice and complex emotional trauma that accompanies the pursuit of justice when one is forced to build relationships with the enemy and see the world through their eyes.
