Shot in bright colors and filled with infectious original pop music, Queens of Drama traces the rise and fall of chanteuse Mimi Madamour (Louiza Aura) over several decades.
Auditioning for Stars in the Making, a vicious American Idol-esque competition, Mimi crosses paths with punk performer Billie Kohler (Gio Ventura). Mimi achieves stardom; Billie gets heckled off the stage… but a turbulent love affair emerges along with the whispers of both the public and the industry, not ready to accept a lesbian pop princess in 2005. Thoroughly campy and melodramatic from start to finish, Alexis Langlois’ debut feature is his bloody valentine to bad girls, trash art, and the wild world of obsessive queer fandom. Don't say we didn't warn you when the song "Pas touche (Don't Touch)" gets stuck in your head.
