Art of Trailer Editing with Benjamin Courtines, The – Oolite Arts Skills Master Class

Trailers are of vital importance in a film's marketing campaign and have tremendous impact on its success. Join us for our second annual intensive Oolite Arts Skills Master Class with Benjamin Courtines from Hands Up Paris, the 2020 recipient of the Miami Film Festival's Best Trailer Award for their work on the trailer for Ema (dir. Pablo Larraín).

Benjamin Courtines is a natural born editor. He left editing school before graduating to join the PPP crew at their express demand and specialized in editing commercials. In 2006, he joined the team of Sonia Tout Court, a luxury trailer company based in Paris, and since then has worked with filmmakers such as Bertrand Tavernier and Steven Soderbergh. Since the foundation of Hands Up with creative partner Yoël Dahan, Benjamin has edited a huge amount of trailers and movies as chief editor, and won the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Editing for Wong Kar Wai's The Grandmaster in 2014. Courtines offers incredible insight into the art of creating a powerful trailer that will best position your film for finding as wide an audience as possible.
