Join us for an intensive master class with Joe Hackman, winner of the 36th Miami Film Festival’s Best Trailer Award for his work on Knife+Heart (dir. Yann González). Hackman has created trailers for films distributed by Sony Pictures Classics, Studio Ghibli and The Orchard, among others. Part of Oolite Arts Skills Master Class, Hackman will offer incredible insight into the art of creating a powerful trailer that will best position your film for finding as wide an audience as possible.
Joe Hackman is a 2012 graduate of Florida State University’s Film School. Since 2013 he has been working in the world of movie trailers, first as an Assistant Editor and then as both a Music Supervisor and Editor for InSync PLUS. While there he worked on ad campaigns for Disney, Netflix, A24, Amazon, and Universal, among many others, and won multiple Golden Trailer and Key Art Awards. In 2019, he was also the first ever recipient of the Miami Film Festival’s Best Trailer Award for his work on the trailer for Knife + Heart.
