2020 Miami Film Festival Poster Artist

Miami Film Festival has selected Argentinian designer, photographer and graphic artist Juan Gatti, founder of Gatti Studios in Madrid, as the official poster artist for our 37th edition.

Gatti previously created the Miami Film Festival poster for the 34th edition, one of the most popular posters in the Festival’s history. Only once previously in Festival history has the Festival invited one of its poster artists to return for another year.

Gatti is renowned for his work as an illustrator for advertising agencies, magazines, and record covers. For over four decades, Gatti has created some of Spanish cinema’s most unique posters, credit sequences, animation sequences and graphic set design in films for Pedro Almodóvar (including his most recent film Pain and Glory, as well as Women on the Nervous Breakdown, High Heels, Broken Embraces, Volver and more), Alex de la Iglesia, Manuel Gómez Pereira, Félix Sabroso and many more.

He has worked as a designer in New York, and Madrid, with other fashion and culture greats through the countercultural movement in the 1970s, and held the post of art director of Italian Vogue, as well as art director of CBS Records.

Gatti was bestowed with Spain’s National Design Award in 2004 and the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 2009.

On October 10, 2019, Juan Gatti’s 2020 Miami Film Festival poster design was revealed to the public for the first time at the Florida premiere of Pain and Glory.
