About
Monika Jordan-Mlodzianowska's feature film directorial debut, The Iron Bridge, centers on the dramatic events set in motion by a love triangle in a Silesian mining community. Foreman Kacper sends his friend Oskar into the deepest parts of the mine, so that he can have an affair with Oskar's wife Magda. When a powerful explosion traps Oskar underground, the unfaithful couple need to face the consequences of their affair.
Drawing from extensive experience as a casting director, Jordan-Mlodzianowska is wise to the ways great actors can convey so much that goes unsaid; and the film unsurprisingly features gripping performances that do great service to this taut, fast-developing script.
This screening is sponsored by AIDS Healthcare Foundation and the Jordan Alexander Ressler Charitable Fund.
