Miami International Film Festival (MIFF), produced and presented by Miami Dade College, partners with Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival to kick-off Lee Brian Schrager’s Culinary Cinema film program with a screening of Soul of a Banquet during the Wine & Food Festival. The Festival duo will bring audiences a delicious pairing of film and food. The Sunday night movie screening with take place at Miami Beach SoundScape, a soaring 7,000-square-foot projection wall that is a part of the New World Center.

Soul of a Banquet is the deeply personal story of chef Cecilia Chiang, by Hong Kong-born, San Francisco-based filmmaker Wayne Wang. Both Wang and Chiang will be present for this Festival-first event. Food-world notables Ruth Reichl and Michael Murphy will moderate a Q&A after the screening. Chiang is known for introducing America to authentic Chinese food with the opening of her internationally renowned restaurant, The Mandarin, in 1961.
